Playa de las Americas

Playa de las Americas is called the informal capital of tourist Tenerife (south of Tenerife). The city is located in the southwest of the island, in the municipality of Arona. Back in the middle of the last century, there was practically nothing here, but in 1970, a picturesque corner on the Atlantic coast was noticed by investors from the United States. So began the massive construction of resort infrastructure. And since the first hotels were built by Americans, who rested right here, the name “Beach of Americans” stuck to the city.
